Harvest Time

 

Life has seasons just like a year has seasons. There is nothing you can do to stop them, hurry them, bypass them or ignore them. Temperatures change, food changes, the lighting changes, everything around you changes. Your clothing choices change, your schedule fluxuates in the seasons as well. The kids are off for summer and then back into school. Fall football gives way to winter sports, or just being bundled up at home avoiding the worst weather.

 

Everything Changes - Life has a pattern as well. In your youth, you are like the early spring, growing expanding, and creating. The mid point of your life is full of production. They are called the fruit bearing years. You get married and have children, you decide on the working course your life will take, and many small decisions set the path for your future life.

Called to believe.

 

Pastor Paul Mooney of Calvary Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis, IN  said at conference in Louisville that sarcasm is Indiana’s form of whit. At times, I personally have a very sarcastic sense of humor. It is easy for me to naturally look at things from a different angle, to twist it slightly to make light of something for the fun of it. I say this not as something I am proud of, but often it is a weakness. It can be very offensive to those who don’t believe strongly in you. If the relationship is not firm, others can be unsure if you truly mean it. We are judged by our words, not by our intent, and if we are unclear, then it leads to a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of meaning, which leads to people turning away from you.
